First of all a HUGE thank you to Emily snow for proving me with an ARC I am very grateful because I was a huge fan of her first book.
Reading the first chapter of this book I couldn't help but make an instant comparison between Willow Avery and the Hollywood screw up that is Lindsay Lohan; but It didn't take long for me to realize that was far from reality. Willow is just scared and confused and doesn't have the kind of support that a young girl in the public eye needs, it doesn't take a genius to work out she has had to deal with some difficult situations and she has used a party lifestyle to mask what she is really feeling.
The book starts with Willow leaving Rehab for the 2nd time in her very young life, without being given even a moment to catch her breath and settle her world is yet again rocked with the pressure of having to star in a movie while adjusting to her life yet.
Insert Cooper, gosh can I have one of him for this Christmas? I promise I have been good this year and I will remember to feed and water him at least twice a day. He has the kind of arrogance that I find endearing and ultimately sexy. You find out almost straight away that he has a certain hate towards the Hollywood lifestyle that creates a tension between him and Willow, considering he is set to be her surf instructor for the upcoming movie.
"I'm Cooper Taylor. I'm a Scorpio. I enjoy women, long walks on the beach, and my roommate says I use girly shampoo. Oh, and I generally hate anyone in the film industry because they're total assholes. Guess you could say I'm you Pai Mei."
"Willow Avery. Actress, Cancer, and according to my team, on my last leg before porn."
You can tell early on that Willow really does want to change her life, but like anyone she needs some support and encouragement because she has the press already set to ruin her. Although the film may not be the best idea, getting away to Hawaii for the filming might just act like a retreat from prying eyes.
Cooper and Willow begin to form a connection, they understand each other and for some reason Cooper see's the vulnerable side of Willow and wants to protect her and keep her safe, he can see she wants to change and unlike her family or friends he is willing to be there and help her.
"He was wrong. I wasn't beautiful. I was damaged."
"I'm fucked up Cooper."
"We'll fix you."
"Am I hell bent on protecting you? Yea, I'd rip someone apart to keep you safe...."
The sexual tension between them is so steamy I am surprised my glasses didn't fog, let's just say there where more then a few moments that left me more than willing to get wet and wild with Cooper, and by wet of course I mean in the water . . . dirty minded people . . . *coughs*
"Jesus, Wills, we've been undoing each other for days. The last place we're going to tear each other apart is right here, in the sand. Guess you can say I'm greedy because I want to be the only one who hears you come."
"I want to be inside of you, Willow. I want to watch your face when I'm inside you, when you sigh, when you come for me. And Willow?"
This is a must read book, and something that can appeal to anyone looking for a steamy read that they can curl up with, I couldn't put it down absolutly amazing Emily Snow has done it again and I cannot wait to see more from her in the new year.
