When your mom is an alcoholic and you have grown up eating stale bread and wearing frayed clothes with holes in you tend to become some what of a recluse, welcome to the world of Maggie.

The town of Port Fare has a seedy and hidden life beneath the surface filled with drug dealers and murder and it has become local MET officer Seth Prescott's job to go undercover and see if he can come to the bottom of it. His task is to be enrolled at the local high school to find out who is behind the latest influx of heroin in the area.

One of the people Seth is told to investigate is Maggie, with her skeletal frame and huge bags under her eyes she screams Heroin Chic. When both of there feeling start to grow will Maggie yet again be let down when she discovers who Seth really is? Or will they move forward towards a relationship?

This is a book that will draw you in and take you through a whirlwind of emotions and when you think the ride is over there will be another hurdle when you least expect it. Maggie's story is one that you can empathize with and you feel for her, you want her life to get better and for her to have that fairy tale ending but as most people know fairy tales rarely happen.

Seth is the girl every guy wants he is; Hot, Loyal, Caring, considerate and did I mention hot? Once assigned to investigate Maggie is becomes clear that his feeling are becoming more than professional, to him she is smart, kind and has the most amazing eyes. The struggle between his his personal feeling and job becomes apparent as they slowly begin to cross the professional line.

This book is something everyone should add to the TBR list, its exciting and shows a a very sweet relationship developing that makes you get that warm fizzy feeling.
