One of my favorite story lines for a book involves an angst ridden rock star and the girl who ultimately changes him for the better, and this book ticks all of those boxes.
I am not sure how I came across this book but I do know that more people need to get it! It was an excellent read and more people need to fall in love with the rock god that is Christopher Mason.
Having had a rocky start to his life Christopher Mason is plagued by emotional demons that are stopping him from forming emotional attachments instead his lives a very troubles life filled with girls, drugs and alcohol. Can he learn to let anyone in or will he continue down a path that is bound to end in disaster?
Mia Ryder is the optimistic and talented Singer of the group Hushed Mentality, she is very laid back and mostly has the ability to stay calm is stressful situations. When her group is booked to open on the tour of 'The forgotten' will Christopher determination to get them to leave the war win out or will he finally find someone that can calm him and he can depend on?
This book was like a hidden gem for me, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but whatever is was was tripped or possibly more. I can't say how much i really loved this book.
At first you want to reach into the pages and give Chris a good slap round the face and telling off but as the book goes on you begin to understand him and empathize with what he has gone through.
All the characters have their very own and strong personality that leaps off the pages, it's fun to read and imagine the scene's in your mind, you can really see the friendship between them and the witty banter keeps you wanting to read more.
Overall I would give this book 4.5/5 stars and I will defiantly read it again.
